Black Glass Enhanced v0.1 by curiouso9 Black Glass Enhanced v0.1 by curiouso9
This tool make your other application go transparent (more correctly, GLASSY)

This script originally made by komalo (glass CMD), however this script edited by me to make easy of all user to made their other apps goes glassy.

If you liked it, leave a comment, i will continue upgrading this script if you guys liked it.

~ for now, you can set 10 of your apps(background must be blacked) turn to glassy look.

is there any way this would work with non-aero themes like black high contrast Accessability theme in Windows 7? The reason I ask is that that particular theme does a total transformation of all programs GUI Menus, pallet titles, active title borders etc especially in Windows live mail desktop app which I use for my RSS feeds etc Synchronize through live mesh across my PCs.
If it cannot work in high contrast basic themes you know why customised Aero themes stop short of completely transforming other programs GUI''S like Windows live mail?
trying to learn how to use Windows style builder to it would be a pointless exercise than trying to accomplish the impossible especially if Master customisers, like yourself, have tried and failed. Cheers

The problem is not with specific glassed applications. It's that BlackGlass fails to read the bge file on startup. I solved the problem by delaying running the application upon startup by a few seconds (seven seconds worked for me). I don't think you can do that with the default Windows programs, but you can use another program that controls how applications run on startup. I use Startup Delayer. It's free and portable.

hey thanks, it does happen to you right, check my new version [link] this also happens when security software block my application to read configuration file, however, if it keeps happening then i alternatively use registry way as configuration.

hm...it doesn't seem to work for me. i'm on windows 7 home premium x64. when i start it, it changes all the text in my windows, but the background remains the same default white. any ideas?

Go to Personalize/Window Color/Advanced Appearance Settings, select "Window" on the dropdown menu, and change the background color to black. If you don't care for total black, dark gray will also do. Note, however, that the lighter the color you choose, the less transparent the glass. Also change the font color to a light one. I recommend light gray, as white will in many cases render texts in applications with white backgrounds unreadable.

Funny.. Do you get a black explorer background (you should at least get that if you've changed the color).
Reply
:iconsanchoproudfoot:
sanchoproudfoot Featured By Owner Mar 10, 2010
no. it remains the default white background. when I run the black glasser, all it does to explorer is make the text look all faded and fuzzy. curiously though, when i highlight a file, then the background inside the highlighted area becomes glassy and transparent.

I think you need to use a theme with black (hence glassy) explorer background. Try this [link] or one of the themes recommended by the developer of this program [link]

It is impossible, I'm afraid. MS Word uses the Windows background color for its page color as appears on the screen, and the Windows font color for its default font color.
Maybe you definitely want to work on a white page, but if it is specifically black you don't like, you may want to try a gray tone. You will still have the glass effect, but the glass will be a bit less transparent in some cases. The lighter the gray, the less transparent the glass. You should also change the font color to light gray.
You might also want to try making Word itself glassy. Add it to the list and see how it works for you.
